Downtown Augusta - 5-10pm - free
On the First Friday of each month a celebration is 
held downtown on Artists’ Row. Galleries and studios 
remain open those evenings to debut new works, 
street vendors sell their wares, and bands can be 
heard all over. Augusta’s downtown boasts over 22 
live music venues, complemented by numerous locally 
owned restaurants. We invite you to visit First Friday and 
return to enjoy our music, food, museums, antiques and 
attractions. First Friday is a free, monthly, family friendly 
event in Downtown Augusta.

Annual Fall Concert

Artistic Perceptions - 10am-9pm - free
Hand painted portrait by Wanta Davenport of 
Maestro Donald Portnoy Retiring Music Director 
of the Augusta Symphony. When completed the 
portrait will be presented by Wanta as a gift to the 
Augusta Symphony in early October. The public is 
invited to Wanta’s studio, located at 551 Broad St., 
anytime to view the work in progress and speak 
with the artist. The completed portrait will be on 
display for viewing on First Friday.

Augusta Ballet Croquet Tournament
Hammonds Ferry - 3-8pm - $100/2 person team
Call now to compete in the Third Annual Croquet 
for the Ballet tournament. If you’re 9 or 90, if you want 
to enjoy a recreational pastime or participate in a 
competitive sport, croquet is an easy game to play.
Spectacular facility at Hammond’s Ferry provides the 
opportunity for everything from placid river relaxation 
to intense competition. Entry fee is $100/2-person team. 
Entry fee includes meal and complimentary drinks for two. 
Corporate teams are welcome. There will be live music 
and silent auction of destination locations. Hammond’s
